I enjoy watching this tv series A Haunting and watched one where this lady starts to practice Wicca. Everything seems to go good until something went wrong somewhere somewhere down the line. My question is what happened? The reinactments are kinda funny just to warn you. I would like to see others point of view on this. Here is a link to watch it directly and if that doesnt work its on youtube and just search A Haunting Spellbound.
lol awesome my friends use to watch this XD love these kinds of shows, worth a laugh really from the acting.
haven't watched too much yet [my boyfriends asleep and i don't want to wake him, but i'll watch it] from what i can gather, she messed up with something. [as i said yet to watch the episode] spells and things can backfire, i'm guessing she did something she shouldn't of though. depending on how new she was, how much she studied, or what she did can determine what happened. example use a Ouija Board or summoned something because it looked easy. while these things are, they're dangerous, you need to know exactly what you're doing because you run a high risk of things backfiring. i'm guessing it's a case of 'hey this looks cool, let's try it.' which normally leads to some negative energy getting stuck to you. the other thing you need to be aware of in these situations though is your mind could be making it worse than it is.
so i've watched the episode, just as silly as i remember the series, the husband was a jerk.
personally, i think a lot of it was made up to scare people away from the occult. at the same time, some of it makes sense. like the 'opening doors you can't close' thing is true. the womans intentions were good, but she didn't know anything really. like she converts to Wicca, only to dedicate herself almost 10 years later. and that whole Isis being the supreme goddess isn't true. while i also get how many confuse the Horned God with The Devil, the son say she was hanging pictures of the devil in his room, and especially that picture [which was not of the horned god] was pissing me off. actually the mother dressing all in black, and the pentagram on the floor [which didn't look like she cast a circle but just put candles on the five points, which i think is what happened since she's attacked by spirits inside the circle] either she actually got her information from The Craft [old movie] or the whole thing was made up to scare people. [which i believe]
it did make points though, you need to know what you're doing or you could subconsciously let things in. i did see though a few points where she could of stopped things. i know she wasn't practicing when they were living with her husband, but a very simple thing she could of done was say 'all positive beings welcome, all negative be gone' it would keep out negative energy. in her mind she was wanting to meet something, but everything is welcome then, and most times this welcomes in negative spirits. when she began reading up on Wicca, i'd like to think it showed her some basic stuff like circle casting. with Wicca you don't dabble in anything negative [negative beings can still contact you, but Wiccans are limited in the things they can cast/do] what she should of also of been doing, especially since she was so devout, was once a year do a massive cleansing at Imbolc, this would of gotten rid of everything [unless again she wasn't doing things correctly] i have practiced Wicca for almost 10 years, and have dealt with spirits my whole life, nothing like that has ever happened to me. not say i've never been attacked, but i've never have a demon show up or some 'sprites' randomly attack me during a ritual.
the moral in my opinion is know what you're doing before acting upon your desires. [though i think the episode wanted us to get the moral 'Jesus good Wicca bad'] while things sound cool, you need to walk before you run, skipping steps one and two because three sounds awesome will wind up with disaster. [also, i hope once she got her story published and her spell worked, she left an offering of some kind to the God and Goddess]
thanks for sharing though, i'm glad to know someone uploaded these lol.
