what is a sacred item

i know i have herd of sacred items but, what are they really?..can the item be anything u want it to be , or does it have to mean something to you or someone? like for example a ring, a shirt or a hair tie?

There are things that large groups of people consider sacred, such as a cathedral.Places like Stonehenge which have been imbued with the quality of sacredness due to centuries of use. Also there are things like your BOS or Athame that you consider sacred. Then, there are the personal and special things that you have a unique connection to, Like a bit of stone you happen to find, a feather, or even a place, like a clearing in the wood where you go to meditate.
