Alchemy

Does anyone know any free, online resources about classical alchemy? They seem to be fairly hard to find.

*Note: This is simply research, I don't think I'll be trying "a quest for the stone" in this lifetime.

You can find on-line versions of many of the classical texts on alchemy at http://www.sacred-texts.com/alc/index.htm

The Book of Aquarius should be perfect. It's free from forgottenbooks.com, though being updated to the second edition right now so I'm not sure if it's available at the moment. The author is completely transparent with what sources he draws from, quotes, summarizes, and rejects in favor of others leaving no stone unturned in search of the truth. I did not believe in even the possibility of alchemy until I read this book, anyone who is interested should download it immediately. It is intelligent without being confusing, wise without being otherworldly, and opinionated without being deceptive (like I said, transparent). After reading you may find the panacea to not be quite as far out of your reach as you thought.
