Not anymore taboo than being Christian and gay, less so actually. Your sexual orientation has no connection to practicing magick.

Well, they do say that god loves everyone. :) And with that belief, it's totally okay to be a gay Christian witch.

I come from a Christian family and the bible has been changed many times to fit laws and beliefs by the Romans. If you think about it, a all loving father. He is loving and shouldaccept everyone. Christians believes he can see the past, present, and future. Plus he creates all. He would of known this would of happen. Wouldn't he? I like to think of things to understand something better too. It's one of the reason I'm solitary and eclectic. I work alone, in real life, while I focus on my own beliefs.

That entirely depends on what you consider Christian. If you are going to follow a particular denomination or set of teachings then you need to follow it all. If it has a list of do's and dont's, you don't get to choose which ones to follow. If you are going to follow a religion, follow it completely. This is one of my pet peeves. Nothing gets my knickers in a knot more than someone claiming to believe in the Bible but conveniently forget to love everyone and to not be judgemental of others.

Now, there are Christian churches who believe almost anything. So, if you are a member of one that allows for a gay or lesbian lifestyle, there is no problem with it. I wouldn't try to say that you are a gay, Catholic witch. That would be a bit of a stretch.

Personally, I think Christanity is one of the most magical and most loving religions there is. Unfortunately, man had changed it to suit his own interest. If you look at the religion according to what it says is correct, not just what you hear at the church on the corner, there is no hatred or condimnation of others. That's man's influence. And sheeple want to follow a leader rather than think for themselves.

In the end, the only thing that matters is that you have the connection to that higher power, no matter what word you use to describe it, and that you follow that higher power. (If that is what you believe, I guess.)

As always, just my humble opinion.

LVX,

Shawn.

I haven't found a way for it to be ok to be homosexual and a 'Christian'... The bible is just strongly against homosexuality. This is the only thing in the bible that I'm not in compliance with and have tried hard to find a loophole or something to make it ok. I haven't found it yet and have read the bible many times.

My advice: You are a gay wiccan who believes in god and tries to follow his book but fail when it comes to your sexuality because you can't change who you are. Every person fails at something, it's what makes us human. Your failing is the hardest one to change and I wouldn't change who I was in regards to my sexuality just because a book says I should. If you truly believe that you were born this way, then you must believe that you were created this way, therefore there must be a mistake in the bible so you can use the ignorance clause because people are not punished for ignorance. This isn't a cover all blanket for all people. If you want to be a 'Christian' in the traditional sense and believe that you can change who you are, then you must do that. I haven't met a person yet who thinks they can change their sexuality so I would definitely plead ignorance that the bible must be misinterpreted.

I hope none of that upsets you but labels come with rules. I don't label what I believe so I don't have anyone else's rules to follow. Perhaps that's a place to strive for.

I always encourage people to follow their heart and do whatever is good for them as it is a free world, and it is very relevant to your case as well. You are free to be who you are, if your current desired situation is being a christian witch who also happens to have different sexual orientation - you can surely do it and keep being who you are. Everything is mostly very free when it comes to witchcraft.

Now let's generally talk about some terms to make it more understandable.

A witch is anyone who practices any from of magic by their free will. A witch can be christian, just like you, and even an Atheist since witchcraft is the use of magic, and not necessarily a religious path adopting a specific religion. On the button line, everyone can be a witch and there is nothing that can limit them or their desire to be witches (i.e magic practitioners).

The same lack of limit appeals to sexual orientations as well. You are free to be a magic practitioner even while you are christian and gay. You have your free will which is very important in this case, and you are free to be whoever you want to be. Magic is for everyone. End of story.
