magical items and ingredients just aid a spell, it doesn't mean a spell with 50 ingredients is better than a spell with one or no ingredients. with every spell it comes down to energy, visualization, and intent. study up on 'the basics' before casting spells.
basically, you need to focus all your energy into the task at hand. that's what gives the spell its power, not the ingredients [though they help] once you've cast your spell [depending on the spell] be sure to work to achieve it. a love spell will fail if you don't talk to the person.
If cast incorrectly, some spells will backfire and can have drastic effects. For example: a backfire'd death spell will do you much harm, whereas a backfire'd "trick" spell will most likely have no effect. Depending on how much energy you put out determines how well the spell works and how large the return is.
Hi this is a really hard answer because we all have are own way of casting spells the first thing you should do is think about the spell you want too do and focus on the spell you wish too achieve when your ready make sure you think of safety not just magical but if you are using candies make sure nothing is in the way and make sure you wount harm your self now cast a pentagram and put some salt around you and do some protection spells and ask for help from the god and goddess then cast your spell after that thank the gods and goddess for there help that's about it bare in mind we all have are own bleaves this is mine to tell you the truth there is no right or wrong in this you are new but in time you will develop your own way of casting and if you pray or chant and have anothe focus then said spells work good luck here if you need me

So the first thing that makes a spell successful is a qualified energy work (building up energy and raising it). This is actually what the spell is so you surely need enough experience with energy work to be a success.
After that you don't need to know how to cast a spell. If you have any instructions for a spell, follow them and you'll get to it step by step. If you find it hard you can easily build up a plan and go by it.
I'm new here too and was wondering the same thing. I have been checking out the site and saw that some spells require a few ingredients and the some say,"nothing" or just that you need concentration or a voice. Does it make a difference if you leave out the ingredients you don't have or is it an all or nothing kind of thing?
