Runes

About 1,800 years ago the runic alphabet came into being among the norse peoples of northern europe. It was said to be a gift from Odin, Chied of the norse gods. One of its used was a predictive device, carfully controlled by the rune masters. The last rune mastee live in the iceland in the seventeenth century, and it was only about ten years ago that the runes were reintroduced for divination. Although slight variations exist, the sets of runes on sale today are fairly tradional. Sests consist 25 runes stones(occasionally only 22). Each, except for a blank, is marked with a symbol of the runic alphabet, made up of straight lines because it was easier to carve staright lines into stone rather than curves.

I've always found anything that says "complete," is always missing something. There are a lot of good resources out there and this site is a good place to start. There are some great posts on runes, but I always like to track back to the source documents, verify with outside resources and only after I see the same information repeated a couple times will I consider it a fact, but I'm a bit of a skeptic. Personified is very knowledgable and if you look through some of her threads, you'll find some good information.
