Ok... I"ll try this again... Didn't post all I wrote in a previous post:
Are there any adults on this site? I've noticed a lot of children posting and wondered if any of this is legitimate. I'm not into vampire and werewolf fantasy. I'm trying to learn REAL magickal arts. From adults who have practiced for a long time. Please, only adults who are serious about the subject need respond. Thank you.
Yes. There are many adults with varying degrees of experience. Most of the time it is a matter of digging our posts out from others. What kind of path are you looking to learn?
I am interested in quite a bit, but I'm still trying to find the path that suits me. I am working on the basics and not doing any magick until I have the proper focus. For now I'm just reading a lot. Trying to figure everything out. It's tough to wade through all of the crap to get to what is "real." This is why I posted this thread. I am really interested in knot magick and dream/nightmare casting and repelling. I also need a heads up on alters, consecration, tools, etc. I know there are many articles on these subjects but don't know which ones are legit. I have read most of them. Any help would be appreciated .
Not really...if you are meaning are there loads of teens and very early 20 something people on here...then the answer is yes and no. There are many adults on here as well. I am quite sure that the various Covens are managed by a more mature and experienced lot.
There are many, many sites that are free which there are more advanced (people of the arts); with many, many tried and true skills. I am not saying that this particular site does not have skilled and experienced person just there are loads of very young people on here (fact). What most young people (must keep in mind that they are learning and are younger) do not get...is the manifesting of your skills and intent is all in YOU (them). If you can...practice, practice with good intentions and will and once you cast your spell...then let it go. In time, 'Universe Time' all will be revealed. I believe that many people think that magic happens within an instant...not entirely true and not entirely false. The more someone watches and believes in the 'Harry Potter' series...the more the realistic and understanding approach is sort of thrown aside.
I have done very simple spells. One actually manifested within a week or so. The other simple spell took about 2 months to manifest...but it did. From that learning and experience gave me great faith in what is possible and also taught me to understand what I had wished for was coming...but not in an instant of time. Also, there are many very good with an actual person performing and explaining some areas of the 'magical arts' on YouTube.com. If you type in search area for what your interest are you can and most likely find many areas to give more insight and inspirations for your interest as well. Reading a lot to understand how the magical arts work and how they are applied to the Universe and to you are very important. I have over 100 books of various male and female experienced person(s)in the 'magical arts' and still reading and learning!...It takes time to absorb and understand. There are so many books about the magical arts--so very many. If I was to advise someone who was truly interested in the 'magical arts' seriously...I would tell them to go to Amazon.com..search for a particular subject in books or Kindle format...loads of stuff is very low cost and some are actually FREE...you need to set up an account so that your books if they are in Kindle format can be delivered to your Tablet, Notebook or Laptop. If you are ordering them with a 'card' to be delivered you must set up an account anyway. What I have found is a great resource with excellent and at times comical reviews of books about the 'magical arts' ....which people are 'learning too' and what they felt was the best for your money and giving them the best possible learning experiences. Some and most are written by practicing persons in the 'magical arts'. Hopes this helps you some. It has been a savior to me that I can read and absorb materials in the privacy of my home...
Sorry I have to say this. But why cancel out teens and kids here? You're sterotyping, and it's like saying all blondes are dumb because obviously that's not the case. Some people here younger than 18 actually do have a lot of knowledge and experience. I honestly don't think that's fair and quite frankly annoying. I have knowledge and experience so why assume that younger people won't give honest and good advice? I could be just as knowledgeable and wise as someone twice my age.
Besides some older people here are also fluff, primarly kids but some adults too. So because i'm not over 18, should I just ask the younger witches and pagans for advice? Absolutely not. In fact I'm not even sorry for ranting because that just annoyed me.
