Sorcery and Christianity?

Hi I'm Asaviraaa,
I've been having a hard time lately with my big brother,
He's really into religion and when he heard that I wanted to study sorcery, he got mad and told me: "That sorcery is evil" and he also told to get rid of my book because it has a Pentagram/Pentacle on it and that it represents Lucifer, but from my research I've been told it represents 5 different elements.

Please explain.

Well about the pentagram, it represent the five elements. And a pentacle is a protection symbol. But I assume its pointing upwards and not down wards, as downward-pentagram is a symbol of lucifer.
And sorcery might no have been the best term, but magic isn't evil in any way
Also tell him why you want to practice magic, other wise tell him that you respect is religion if he respect yours

I assume that when you say your brother is really into religion, you mean Christianity?

The first commandment of the Christian faith is "Thou shalt have no other gods before me", meaning that any other belief than Christianity, is evil, from their perspective.

The pentagram is used to represent the five elements, yes, if it has one point upwards. The inverted pentagram with two points upwards is often used by Satanists, where they see the downwards pointing three points as the rejection of the Christian Trinity.
