Magic or Magick?
By:
Magic is generally referred to the stage tricks that we see "magicians" perform in public places or shows. As i have noticed, a large amount of users on this community refer to the REAL magic we use and live with as "Magic" - which is infact wrong, in many cases. To put it straight, Magick is the official reference to real life magick that we use and manipulate, as opposed to the stage tricks performed by many around the world.

No, I personally think it's stage tricks that should change its word-- to "legerdemain" perhaps, that's pretty... but the art and science of causing change to occur in conformity to will came first , and has a right to the original spelling without that silly "k"! Of course, the word "magick" gets more of the intended results on a google search...

exactly, the word "Magick" brings up twice the RELATIVE amount of search engine results - and again, i did NOT SAY IT WAS WRONG to use the word "magic". It just helps to seperate stage trick magic from the real one, that causes natural change around us.
This is the only reason i started the thread.

Oh my this won't end well.
Magick is proper but people say magic alot. It can refer either way.
It's like saying yall. Or something like that. It's just one persons way of saying it even THOUGH the k is proper. Lol.
Why not call it the secret ways to control natural forces?

"You stated it clear as a bell!"

Which rubbed us both wrong, but I think MystikX meant by 'saying that he didn't say' was that he didn't mean it mean ly. (Pedantry --the 8th virtue or deadly sin? :D)

I prefer thaumaturgy, myself, but I'd understand if practitioners preferred their term for what they do to "pop". Like magic ...k

and far be it for me to more-than-suggest what other people call themselves.

If you believe saying one way of spelling magick is wrong, than why wright "Spelling magic with a "k" is not the proper way of spelling it" - arent you basically saying thats it wrong?

You should read what you write:P
People spelling magick, i personally believe, is the right way. Its a personal opinion. I set up this forum just to confront the issue that when outside of this forum, spelling magick as magic can cause confusions with the stage trick magick and the magick the forum is about.
kts if you have a problem with my opinion im sorry it upsets you so.

I disagree with kts, it all depends what tradditions you follow! I spell magic with a 'k' and each time a write or type it down I instictivley add a 'k' to it.
