Shadow People?

For the past several months I've seen, on several occasions, shadow-like figures. On new years, I was walking with some friends at night, and I saw a shadow of a person on this bright orange car that was waiting at a stop light. There isn't any possible way the shadow could have been cast, as there wasn't anybody standing there, or any significant source of light that could have made it. A while before that, I clearly saw the shadow of something run past the hallway near my bedroom. Just last night, I was fixing my hair in the mirror and saw, a shadow like substance move in the background. It wasn't like the other two, as it wasn't a figure, but more of a cloud. It moved very quickly. I pretended like I didn't see anything and went into my bedroom, where, I turned on all the lights. I'm doing the best I can not to freak out. The night before last when I was with a couple friends, we all got chills, and my one of my friends kept saying she thought there was something in the room. Can anybody explain what this might be? It seems like its getting worse, and night has been a very uncomfortable time for me lately. Any information you can give will help.
