black/dark moon?

The past couple months I've seen advertisements about the new moon being called a dark or black Moon and that it has alot of energy somehow... What rituals, spells, or anything should you do during this type of moon...?

As far as I know the moon controls earths ocean currents and tides and waves. Anything outside of that is superstition. I could be wrong though. I have many pagan friends who insist new wands bad hexes and difficult healing spells must either be done on a full moon or a new one.

You can do pretty much any kind of magic on a dark moon, just as you can on a full moon. It just depends on your beliefs. Some see the dark of the moon as an ending and others as a beginning. It is many times used for spells of transformation (changing your life/habits kind of transformation) and for banishing. The power is neutral, you chose what the purpose it is used for will be.

The Moon has energy, of course.But the "light" of the Moon is merely the reflection the Sun. Away from the Sun it is always dark!
