I'm starting to want to write spells and/or rituals to publish them here on the site for the public's use, spells that are specifically written for other members and that have not been used by me, so I can keep my private spells, private.
I haven't been able to cast or practice due to my living situation, but what do you all think? How would writing spells for SoM benefit me spiritually and as a member?

I think it is up to you personally. I don't know how it would affect you spiritually, as I imagine you and I practice spirituality in a very different way, but it could help you as a witch.
I know I learn a lot when I write a new spell because I put so much into it. I make sure it is exactly what I need, and the creation of it is as important to me as the spell itself.
It all comes down to you though. If you feel like you are in a position where you can confidently write spells for others, then I say, go for it! Especially if you are feeling a push in that direction. Trust your instincts.

My question would be whether you feel that you have enough solid knowledge of creating spells in order to do so. You did mention that you haven't been able to cast or practice due to your living situation. We probably would not benefit here on SOM from more spells posted by someone who isn't skilled in creating and casting spells. So consider your own skill level before you post.
I've been writing spells for years, Lark. I know how it goes and I'm a great writer, so people say.
I have practiced before anyone in my home new of my faith, but I only stopped practice out of maturity and respect for their want to not have witchcraft performed in their house. I still believe and all. I feel as if my knowledge level has been judged. I've been researching for almost ten years, and I officially converted to Wiccan in 2012. I appreciate all the input. I'm going to take a leap of faith and begin writing simple spells that are real, non-fluff, and that can help people out.
I would say go for it, although maybe start out by posting charms and the like that you are willing to share. More important than the name of the spell or even the use is the reputation behind it. If people think that you are running out the gate with a half cocked idea of writing spells (I am in no way saying that you aren't proficient.) then people will skip over them for a name that they know. By starting with charms or something else that is more of a crafting ritual than an actual performance of spell work, you stand a better chance of people viewing your post as legitimate additions to the knowledge base found here on the website.
