Alright so let me start off with saying that I know it's not real and I don't pracitice it (mostly energy work and learning crystal properties) but I was skimming some other sites and some say it's possible some say it isn't, why is their so much debate around this subject , I've been very curious about what causes people to think this stuff is real.
Telekinesis, in my eyes, is an aversion of energy that accidentally transmits into an object's path while casting or chanting and during rituals that forces it to move. In ways of moving objects on purpose without actually touching them is something left to deities or entities, I think, because they can't touch anything in our realm since we're separated.
Sorry but i must comply the kinesis more especific psychokinsis it's a form of energy manipulation in the outside transmiting the energy to move an inanimate object, when you practice this you'll notice that you're hungry even if you just ate because your using the energy stored inside you (note : you only use your own energy when practicing tk or kineis affecting the body) doesn't just end in there tk is just using your energy as a type of force but there are the elemental variations terrakinesis, aquakinesis, pyrokinesis and aerokinesis wich is made by first comprehending the element how it reacts, how it moves once you learn it's properties you can use the energy of that surrounding element. Psychokinesis has got more appraise because it's easy to catch the idea for more people and since shaolin monks can manipulate their energy and EM has been tested before. so in resume PK it's just a form of extreme concentration in order to manipulate your energy or the energy around you. sorry if my english is a little bad

None of the forms of kinesis truly work. The whole idea comes from fantasy novels and Hollywood films, especially from "Avatar-The Last Air Bender". The idea is intriguing but has never been successfully demonstrated in a verifiable manner.
The problem with ideas such as this on this site is that many of our members, both young and old, are first exposed to the concept of magic through fantasy novels and through movies. They look at what magic is portrayed as doing in these media and they think "Wouldn't it be wonderful if it were true! It would fix all the problems in my life!" Then they find a site like SOM and they think "It is true!".
Well, they are partly correct. Magic is real. But it is not the magic that they see in movies or read about in books. But when they first come here they don't know that. Some of us try to help them learn about real magic, and a few wish to learn. But many simply want to hold on to their fantasies because it seems more amazing then the reality. And there are also those on this site who will intentionally lead them astray with the idea that things like kinesis, shape-changing, growing wings and flying, etc. are true.
Those of us who have worked with magic for many years keep saying the same thing over and over. Magic is real. But magic has its limits. Not everything you read in a book or see in a movie or on YouTube is real. Magic works with the subtle manipulation of energy, not with always visible results. And spells aren't going to work for you unless you understand the basics of how and why magic works. You won't get instant results. Learning magic requires time and a lot of effort to master.
What you said is very real and legit; many people, young and old, do come here with Hollywood's brainwashing on what our magick is. I was one of those little girls that loved magic and the paranormal. I was interested in dreams and such, but too young to comprehend actual magick or Pagan religion. Even as I got old enough, for a bit too long I held onto fantasy beliefs, but that was probably for psychological distraction of other things in my life. I finally let it go and I still discovered that I did perform some legit aspects of magick as a child. Even my parents recall it! The younger people that find that interest in magic are generally genuinely interested and are yearning for truth. It just takes time and age to decipher real magick. Some of them can and do let go of Harry Potter spells and such while others don't. What I'm trying to say is this; even the people like me aren't always less credible. They have some form of the truth in the backs of their minds. It doesn't make them right or wrong. As long as they learn what real magick is and remove any hopes for fantasy to exist, they can be well on their way to a great and purposeful lifetime of practicing magick.
