I've never heard of using candy in a spell. Sugar and honey, but never candy. An old friend of mine use to leave candy as offerings to the faeries in her garden but that wasn't a spell. What is the spell in question?

I would have to see the full spell, but sugar is used to 'sweeten' a person, while something sour or a vinegar is used to 'sour' ones affections. Perhaps you should use a sour candy over a pixie stick. Give it a try and write down any results. Can't do much else.
