what is Stregheria?

Stregheria is a form of Italian American Witchcraft. It's a religion based around the Goddess Diana and her daughter Aradia and also the fae. The Streghe are kin to the fae and I'll delve into that more later on The word Stregheria is an archaic Italian word for Witchcraft. Stregheria is also sometimes reffered to as (The Old Religion) or La Vecchia.

My personal notes from my BOS:

Stregheria

In the old religion (La Vecchia) fairies are an integral part of the belief system and family and cultural traditions are very important. They view nature as being filled with spirits.

Strega (female)
Streghe (males and females)

The streghe (Children of Diana) and fairies share a very intimate bloodline relationship . When a child is born on a full moon he or she is a child of Diana a fairy (Strega/Streghe) (reference Hereditary Witchcraft By Raven Grimassi).

The fairy of the moon spoke to the woman
“You are kin to us and belong to our race for children
Who are born under a full moon are sons and daughters
Of the moon”. Then the fairies gave to her an enchantment
Sent by Diana upon the light of the moon
And the woman became the first of all Strega.
This woman was Aradia.

From Diana to Aradia,
“and thou halt be the first of witches known and thou shalt be the first of all in the world. An thou shalt teach the art of poisoning, of poisoning those who are great lords of all yea, thou shalt make them di in their palaces and thou shalt bind the oppressors soul with witchcraft and when ye find a peasant who is rich then ye shall teach the witch, your pupil, how to ruin all his crops with temptests dire with lightning and terrible thunder and with the hail and wind”.
