Honey Jar,candle question
By:
I know when the candle is burning you pray and focus on the intent. However, it was unclear to me if this is needed for the entire time the candle is burning? Do I focus on the intention the whole time until the candle burns out or do I do it for a while and walk away and let the candle to continue to burn?

Thanks, its my first honey jar.

I would say let it burn until you feel it needs to burn completely down, or blow it out. It's just up to you.

Light the candle and pray over your honey jar. The key is to focus your intent, your wish/desire as you pray on the jar. And talk to the candle that you burn on the jar top. Yes, talk. Speak as if you are talking with the person you got in that jar. Always speak sweetly, in a caring way, saying what you wish to achieve.
How long you pray it's up to you, most important to concentrate on your goal, feel your energy flowing to your honey jar.
You can even burn incense while doing this, until the candle complete burns out. If there is any wax left over, just leave it, don't pick it off, let it build up. Once the candles has burnt out, very gently shake the jar, to help liven up the jar. Do this every day for the first week, then you can cut it down to 3 times a week. Normally I do this on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Trust in your work , it is a slow spell, but the results are always worth the wait, if done correctly.
Hope this is helpful.
Good luck!:)

**I AM ANSWERING THIS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE HOODOO PRACTICE**

The length of the prayer does not necessarily have to match the burn time on your candle. The point of prayer is not to clarify intent, when you crafted your jar the intent should have been clear enough. Prayer does two things, in the context of Hoodoo, opens up communication with God and puts energy into your work.

Now, putting energy into your work can be done in a few ways. You can speak sweet things to the jar, which can have the added bonus of reciting scripture, particularly passages from the Songs of Solomon. Shaking the jar is also an option, but I wouldn't get too rough, personally. I've seen people carressing the jar, laying with it, all kinds of things.

A side not on focusing your intent, your actions toward the jar and the energies you surround it with, should not be anything that might dilute or misdirect the energies you've charged up.
