Don't you think that , if flying were possible, we'd see magic users flitting about the sky like those in the Harry Potter films? I certainly wouldn't put up with the delays in airports if I could either teleport or fly. This is a case where using common sense is a good thing.

A spirit or deity could inspire an engineer to invent a flying machine. Otherwise, any credible occult resource will tell you that magic can only help possible things happen when you want them to. If flying on brooms were possible, then Boeing and Lockheed Martin wouldn't be spending billions in our tax dollars on R&D.
