My Theory of magick 2

First it should be understood that magick takes on two forms. Low magick or magick that can be done wherever and whenever. And high magick which is usually accompanied by ceremony or ritual of some type. Both are technically the same process following the same concept. With low magick you are simply working with that which is naturally flowing around you. An example of which is seeing auras. A persons aura is always there it's just a case of training your senses to see what is not normally seen. High magick is utilizing energy, changing its form into a thought or desire and sending or releasing it out into the world to do what you wanted it to do. An example of this is a Native American Rain Dance. The dance is utilized by the group to raise energy, the energy is formed into thought by will and then released into the world to do what it's supposed to do. Bring rain.

Ceremonial magic orritual magic, also referred to as high magic and as learned magic in some cases, is a broad term used in the context of Hermeticism or Western esotericism to encompass a wide variety of long, elaborate, and complex rituals of magic. It is named as such because the works included are characterized by ceremony and myriad necessary accessories to aid the practitioner. It can be seen as an extension of ritual magic, and in most cases synonymous with it. Popularized by theHermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, it draws on such schools of philosophical and occult thought as Hermetic Qabalah,Enochian magic,Thelema, and the magic of various grimoires. But Low magic may be the main root for high magic.

I don't really agree with the terms, High magic and Low Magic, but I agree that magic has tiers of strength.

Honestly I believe that magick has no classification. Your spells or works are as strong as you. Wands and such are merely tools. I've never used such things in my works as of yet but I've successfully cast spells. In my training such things limit your power and scope!

High magic and low magic has nothing to do with the strength of the magic. High magic refers to ceremonial magic, low magic refers to witchcraft type practices.

The two often have similar goals and will aim to do similar things, they merely use different methodology to go about it.

Some people, often erroneously, will use the term high magic to refer to working with beings considered 'higher' such as angels, and low magic as working with spirits and demons.

Really and truly, magic comes in various forms. As a practitioner of high magic in the definition I gave first I prefer the term ritual or ceremonial magic as it actually elucidates what is behind the practice.

Ok in my training I believe the basis of all things is energy. So the primary component of every magical work is energy. So what's more powerful. My words of hickory dickory doc or the energy I put behind it?

If everything is energy, surely that includes your words; so what is the difference between the energy of the words and the other energy you use.

Words carry energy, the energy to create change; both internally and externally. If your words have semantic meaning pertinent to your goal they carry a specific energy tailored to your magic.

So what is more important? I cannot say, but I would say both are important.

Hadit 93 by the law of 3 I send blessings and good fortune unto thee by my will so mote it be!

Sounds like fancy words doesn't it. But it's the energy behind the words that are important! And by your reading them that energy is released into the world to do its job. And it should be noted I've never seen you, don't know you from Adam, and don't know where you live. Don't need too distance don't matter.

I agree. But my point was as soon as you utter a word with an intention, you have laced that word with energy, or the potential to cause some of change, even in normal everyday conversation. People assume magic is waving your hand and causing a miracle, magic is causing a change in the internal or external world via conscious act of will.

Speaking, writing, reading- these are magical acts in their own right. Shakespeare wrote magnificent plays often with the intention to teach his audience something or to entertain them, and they did just this. The words caused an internal change for them.

Energy behind words? The words themselves were born from and are made out of, energy. I do understand your point, I am just saying, to differentiate between magic and language is to differentiate an apple from an orange- they are both fruits.

The reason why I said it might not be more important, people are all different. Me, I could quite happily do a spell with no words, I am a visual person and so visual stimuli and gestures are much more important to me. Others like poetic verse in ritual and can get into 'the zone' using it. Language is more important for some.

So we come upon an interesting point about magick here that I think people should look at! Magick is individual. We get so many people who write about it in books ect and people automatically pick it up and expect to use those spells ect because it's written in a book. But they've never looked into the deeper aspects of how and why it works. And people are going around and selling these spells as actually working spells. When learning magick take the time to find out what's right for you and stick with it.
