I am wondering if I should move on from only doing white magic and start practising the black arts.

Magic has no colour. Black and white are just colours used to help categorise the intent behind the practice. Moreover, black and white magic are subjective. What may be 'white' magic to one person, another may consider as 'black' magic and vice versa.

It's a personal choice. Do whatever you wish.

I agree. Magic is not good or bad, light or dark, white or black. Your itent can be, but magic is just a tool.

If you are struggling to find a path do some research on various paths, there are many to choose from. If you find one you like the sound of, research deeper into it, talk to practitioners of that path and see where you end up.

Once you have done that and still haven't found one that calls to you. Take the parts of each path that appeal to you and build your own tradition. This is called being Eclectic.

White magic can get most things accomplished, but occationally there may be a case where fire calls for fire. In a case where there is an abundance of negative energy, it may stands to reason to utilize that energy toward your goal. For example, someone physically superior is tormenting you, it's not un heard of to allow their negative ways to backfire upon them. Yes, its a 'dark' deed, but the intent is still pure.
