That depends on what you mean by "magical". I don't believe in the astral plane, but those who do,say that it is full of magical creatures. In the physical world, there are many creatures that could be thought of as "magical". Consider the caterpillar. He spends all his life doing nothing except eat. Then he "goes to sleep" for the Winter. In Spring he emerges from his sleep as a lovely butterfly or moth. How much "magic" do you want?

People say there are shades, or people's souls in the astral plane. Gods and goddesses, which are natural energy that have been given human qualities so we can worship and ask things of them. There are thoughtforms, servitors and familiars, which are spirits you make to serve a purpose. There are also Dryads, nymphs, devas, and elementals, and demons (good and bad) which are lesser natural spirits that may be given human form.

There is a consensus here that Vampires, Werewolves, and Mermaids are not real in any way.

If they do, they've done a phenomenal job of hiding. A good deal of old legends speak of times when such creatures walked the earth, like the Irish stories of the Tuatha De Danaan and their war with the Firbolg. I personally believe there is a good deal of truth to those legends, but they happened millenia ago, and stories change a lot through the years.
