Reading Runes

I have a guide that tells me the "meaning" of the particular Rune, but it's kinda vague. Maybe I need a different guide?

For instance, what if you pull the blank Rune when you are asking a question?

As far as I know, blank rune was not in the old futhark, it is a later addition.

Supposedly, a blank rune is reperesentstive of the "Wyrd" rune. Depending on where it's drawn, it can mean either 'you shouldn't know this at this time' or 'it is in the hands of the gods'.

Ok, that actually makes sense. Kinda like the Magic 8 Ball asking you to try again later.
