Paying for spellcasting

I have recently been receiving mails from people who will ask you to cast spells and then they ask if you need to receive cash.. as for many casters and witches who have worked with magic for many years, it is insultive to feel and see some people still ask vulnerable people who need help to go on with walks in their lifes for money.. Please do not ever pay in exchange for spell casting. Spell casting is a natural gift and should never be commercialised. Please note that any caster who wants money to help you is a fraud!

This has happened to me as well.

I understand the point you are making but would like to add an addendum.

A spell caster should be able to charge for their work if they choose. It would be nice if the cost they charge for is specific to materials used and not some over inflated amount.

Many who claim to be professional spell casters want large sums of money. I have never cast a spell for myself that would cost more than a few dollars. I see no reason why a caster should not be compensated for materials used or even time, the issue (in my opinion) is that the charge be reasonable.

To say all casters that ask for money are frauds is rather one sided.

I agree with Nordstar. Even today if someone in my tribe wishes to go to a medicine men or woman, you don't go without some sort of gift as payment for his or her service. Usually tobacco, food, or something the medicine person can use and in some cases money is given. I see nothing wrong with charging if that's what people wish to do. If they are casting for other people, they have to pay out of pockets for their own supplies. Don't get me wrong, people who charge hundreds of dollars for a spell are probably going to be scammers, but a person offering services of their time and materials has a right to ask for payment.

I had one person approach me and wanted at least $50.00, a down payment for some higher amount.

In cases like that, they're probably just trying to scam you. If they're charging an unreasonable amount of money, I'd question it. You can always ask them why it specifically is that much. If they're legit they should be able to tell you why they are charging that specific amount.

Some of the things to look out for are promises of the impossible, exorbitant fees, international numbers without the country code separated from the rest (there are some places which will charge you oodles for simply ringing them), and so-on.

I agree with NordStar: There is absolutely reason for some to charge.

That said, there are also those who wish only to take advantage.

Should you ever pay for casting "items"? All the spell casters I ask to spells for me, who say they do it for free, always say I have to pay for the items to cast the spell, and I can't do that either:(! What should I do? Any ideas?

If they want to charge you for materials, let them or politely ask if they want to be charged, if they don't, they don't, but don't forget to ask if they wish the materials to be paid for.

Casting has been in my family for years, and we cast for others, and my mom has people pay half of what the supplies would cost if she doesn't have any of it, and a quarter if she does. Her day job is a teacher, so she doesn't make alot, and supplies can be expensive sometimes. For that reason, I think that asking for reasonable payment is appropriate, especially if the caster doesn't have alot of time/money to go around.

TLDR: I agree.
