If you have access to YouTube, I suggest watching Tony Porter give a talk called "A Call To Men" where he describes how society conditions us to genders that actually makes life terrible for everyone. Gender discrimination is a bad thing. Guys should be allowed to cry if they feel like crying.

First of all, this topic was posted in Misc. Topics. Thus, I see no problem with it being discussed.
Secondly , emotions can be fundamental or essential in a working. Thus , a person trying to find their emotional centre and a topic regarding emotions seems perfectly welcome on this site.
*Lack of Paragraphing is because I am on mobile. For some reason , whenever I try posting on mobile , be it the full or Lite version of the site , all paragraphing is removed. Does anyone else have this problem? I set my settings to HTML Editor if that matters. Anyone else faces this?
To address Akashic's mobile issue, I have never been able to make paragraphs work on a mobile and I've been on this site for the last 4 years, on and off.
As to the crying thing: Crying doesn't just happen from being sad. Crying is a common reaction for an overflow of many emotions. Tears of joy, tears of hate, tears of sorrow, etc. all of them are because we feel the emotion so strongly.
Many practices are fueled by emotion. Harnessing the inner energy of love, anger, sorrow, happiness, determination, and many other emotions is a key tool. So I would say allowing oneself to cry when one needs to is vital to the practice. Only by embracing all of our emotions can we find our center and become all we can be.
I realy did not need that response, seeing as I have watched many many forum posts such as this called out for the exact same reason with no issue at all. I said nothing cruel to this person, I just personally feel that this topic is better suited to a non-specific forum website.

I did not mean my postings in a harsh way nor was I criticizing you. If that was the way it sounded like , well , in my defense , it is hard to convey tone through prose and writing.
I am just expressing that since it is posted in the Misc Topics Section , and that enotions can be fundamental in a working , it has perfectly earned its place on the site.
While of course this is being able to be raised on other sites as well , every forum site has its own flavour. And varying experiences can be given. On a forum for magick, people can perhaps relate and share their experiences on how various emotions affect their own workings. They are more inclined to anyway.
On the other hand, if this thread was posted on another forum , say reddit or 9gag , the experiences and comments recieved can be radically different. Responses of Crying GIFs , Sexists and Gender Discrimnatory comments made by both genders and comments like "I needed to punch a baby/cat/insert cute animal here to feel like a man again" and so forth can often be found.
Perhaps the Opening Poster had his/her reason for raising such a topic on a site such as this and I personally feel benefit of doubt should be given. Well , either that or this may be the only forum site the opening poster knows.
Well it's a fine line because anyone can become 'too emotional', but in terms of your house burned down, your favourite mug broke, pet died, or something, it's natural to feel sad and even cry [depending on how long depends on the situation, being inconsolable over the mug breaking might be a sign of an underlying issue] the problem is society deems men crying and 'unnatural'. It's an old stereotype, men are brave warriors and woman cower at mice and cry over broken nails. This is far from true [especially today] and while you can get some people mocking you for crying, it's fine to do so. Bottling up or suppressing emotions is unhealthy and can result in them exploding out at inappropriate times.
You might like to look into studies on emotions and emotional intelligence. There are various activities to help you become more in touch with your emotions, instead of bottling them up, and learning how to release them in healthy ways. But crying is part of human nature, male and female, it's society that made up the rules.
