Question on food offering

Hello there:
What should we do with food offerings after the ceremony, rite, prayer, etc.? Afterward, I offer the food to Mother Earth (throwing in the woods).

For me, it depends on who I was offering it to, and what the purpose of the ritual was. Honestly, I usually just eat it myself, since most of the time, I'm told to by the being I offered the food to in the first place.

But traditionally, yes, giving the food to Mother Earth is a good idea. ^_^ I have also heard of people burying the offering, or simply throwing it out, though the latter seems a bit wasteful to me.
