Most of you are likely familiar with bindings. People use them defensively, to stop someone from hurting themself, or even as revenge.
During the waning or new moon, visualize the harm the person is causing and send your focused energy into a poppet or image resembling them. Then wrap the poppet completely in black ribbon. Some might prefer seaweed or something natural instead of ribbon. While doing so, chant about the person losing their magic, being unable to harm anyone, or their actions being reflected back at them. Keep visualizing their energy flowing out of you and into the ribbon. Now bury the mummy or put it in a box, or tie it in a black bag to contain the energy.
This is just one way it can be done. What method do you use for binding?
How do you feel about the ethics of bindings?
What do you think is a good way to detect and break a binding someone placed on you?
Do you prefer bindings or an alternative for dealing with problem people?
What is your opinion on free will and how it relates to bindings?

I'm not comfortable going into my method right now, but possibly later on.
However, I do do bindings. Especailly to keep someone from harming themselves. I think when you are helping, it's not wrong.
Usually, I will feel the energy if someone has done a binding on me (only happened once that I know of.) But I didn't break it, because I understood the reason.
As for free will and all, I don't think it really has an affect. I usally try to do a binding in a way that will more or less be positive encouragement for the person not to harm themselves. I also know I cant completely stop someone from doing it.

For me using Kingu I wouldn't need to follow the moon cycles as often because hes notcorresponding to anything except chaos and darkness. I mainly use poppits using my blood to ensoul it and calling upon Tiamat and Kingu. Use paper infusing the elements of life and my breath energy. Just how Marduk gave life to Mankind when he mix the blood of Kingu within the mixture. I use it for either blessings or curses depends what is fair to fit the punishment.
For bindings, I generally create something, some object, with a distinct energy signature that resonates with my intent. But bindings are not necessarily what people generally think. Bindings can be used even for little things to get better and faster results. So I don't really see anything wrong with binding. As for controlling another, I know from experience that the consequences will come around, so as long as you are willing to face the consequences, do as you like. A good way to break a binding is to transfer the binding to some object and then destroy that object.
But I really would like to hear more methods for detecting bindings.
