Honey jars are meant to attract things to you. They can be used for bringing money, opportunity, love, and more into your life.
I'm a very straightforward person. Getting right to the point is important in hoodoo. The hoodoo tradition is all about skipping the bull and getting exactly what you're asking for. It's important to remember this when making your honey jar.
First, write your petition. For example: write your name, birthday, goal, and command overlapping one another. Identity on bottom. Command crossing perpendicular. Goal overlapping your identity, upside down. Rotate the paper as you do this.
Bind your petition with colored cord. If you have some.
Place the petition in the lid of your empty jar.
The first element of your honey jar isn't honey. I know. It's what everyone thinks. But it's not. The first ingredient you need is something related to your jar. For example, if you want to use graveyard dirt, you can as long as a spirit has guided you to their grave for this specific jar. You can also use brick dust for protection or salt for cleansing or anything else you can think of. This is the base.
Your petition rests here. Place it in the jar on your base element.
Now add stones and crystals that match the vibe and energy you're looking for. Earth elements represent tangibility. Reality. Physical manifestation.
Add candies, coins, or other offerings to your spirit guides, aids, and friends. These things help them strengthen your petition and attract them. It shows the spirits you're an ally and that you're respectful.
Flower petals, herbs, and roots go in next. Look at the symbolic meaning these things have to you and how they relate to the work you're doing. By this point, your jar should be nearly full.
Now the honey part. Add honey, molasses, syrup, etc. Anything sweet. Pour it in and fill it a 3rd of the way.
Now add alcohol. Make sure the alcohol has a sweetness to it. Alcohol is a preservative and it has to be sweet so that it compliments the sweetness of the work you're doing.
Seal up the jar.
Melt the base of a spell candle onto the lid so that it sticks and then light the wick.
Be sure you're blessing, anointing, and petitioning every item in the jar as you place it in. Pray to your gods. Pray to the spirits. Be honest and grateful. Once everything is sealed, say another prayer over the whole jar. Once the candle is set, say a prayer over the candle, light it, and say a final pray over the power everything. Wait for the candle to burn down on its own. When it's finished, your spell is done. The honey jar now contains the literal spell. Put it somewhere special (not the bathroom) and leave it there until you no longer have a need for the spell.
