Any good books you would recommend on Asatru or Norse Paganism? I teach a year and a day school and I am always looking for decent books on Norse Paganism

I recommend these books:
  • The Poetic Edda - Lee M. Hollander
  • The Prose Edda - Snorri Sturluson

The two above have various translations/versions.

  • The Norse Myths - Kevin Crossley-Holland
  • Essential Asatru - Diana L. Paxson

There are other books about Asatru specifically but I like Essential Asatru the most. It's a good introduction book, in my opinion.

As for Norse Paganism as a whole, you'll have to do a little more research into that, since it's a bit broad.

These books, at least, are a good starting point.

Essential Asatru is a great book. I have a copy on my shelf. Diana Paxson is an author I read frequently. Another good introductory book specific to Asatru is A Practical Heathen's Guide to Asatru by Patricia Lafayllve. And as I mentioned in the list, Our Troth by Gundarsson has a lot of lore and information on Heathenry in general.
