HoTM: Rosemary

May's Herb of The Month is Rosemary!

This wonderful herb can be used in a variety of ways but I am interested to know how you all use it. Even if you have not yet worked with it your plans for working with it in the future tense. That and generally your thoughts on this plant as a whole. Do you like the fragrant way it smells? Have you ever used it in spellwork? Did you ever think to put it in your hair? What about in a dream pillow? Did you know it's a common choice to use in bathing rituals? The other common choices being rose petals and lavender of course! What about you kitchen witches out there! You ever cook with it?

Rosemary is actually one of my favorite plants, not only because I love the way it smells and it's very convenient for me, but because it grows so well where I live!
I'm currently growing three small plants, and I accidentally snipped a few branches off so I've rooted them and they're growing really well too.
I use this often, and probably will use it more often as an offering to Aphrodite, it's a herb associated with her. I simply burn it with whatever else I am burning for her (usually with rose petals/leaves and whatever else I see fit). I also have some in a dream pillow I made (also for Aphrodite surprise surprise). I've heard it's good for warding off nightmares and evil spirits, so that's good too!
It's a good companion plant for sage, cabbage, carrots, and I think a bunch of other plants I can't name off the top of my head. I know this from online sources and in my own experience it works very well!
Rosemary is full of a lot of B vitamins, iron, potassium, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and anti-fungal properties. It has a ton of other health benefits, and my family often uses it as a seasoning in cooking!
What I am planning to do with it, is use it in baths! Since I'll be able to use a new bathtub soon, I'm excited to do a lot of nice witchy things with it.

Yeah, I read it is used as an offering for Aphrodite and Hebe! I wanted to give some to Hermes as it is often used to help with dream work and he is a god of dreams and sleep who often communicates with me through dreams. I want to put rosemary and marjoram in the bronze vase I got for him at a yard sale and shined up real nicely.

Since it is used in dream pillows I will be using it picked fresh then drying it myself along with some lavander essential oil, a bay leaf with their names written in Greek and a piece of clear quartz I'm thinking. I will be making a dream pillow for Ares and Hermes first. I already have the perfect red and blue sachets for both of them! :D

I also put some fresh rosemary in my hair as I simply love the smell and it makes me feel more witchy. I do it when I am going out or just reading. I have actually used it in my baths as well when doing cleansing baths which I very much like, it's even better with a little lavander essential oil.
