emotions and magick

I was wondering how much emotions really affect spellwork. Because unfortunately right now ive been feeling very depressed from some problems ive been dealing with in my love life, and today another sad thing has been added on, a family member of mine being ill. Each day lately i'll go off and on with my emotions, where for a little while I feel ok, not best but ok, but then later on I feel so sad and hurt and turn into an emotional mess. I know that with spellcasting, intent is what matters most. Can emotions mess up the spellcasting you are trying to do? thanks.

If you do something good, emotions need to be positive. If bad - negative. Yet, in Satanic practices it is said that you can feel some sorrow or greef as well if you want to heal someone with a ceremony. You always have to be sincere, for devil or anything else is inside your heart and knows everything better than you yourself.

And good luck dealing with both of these problems. Both are hard to get over.
