ive been wondering for a while now. i beieve in deities from celtic, navajo, cherokee, aztec, japanese, and norse beliefs.
i have just now gotten into magick, and i dont know if i have to abandon some of my gods over others, in order for spells to work, or if one or the other is real or not. im in a pickle here, i am half irish, and half cherokee native american. i need guidance in this feild.
You don't need to discontinue believing in the Gods you do now for spells to work.
Whether or not a God is real or not is up to you.
It is your reality to shape as you see fit.
Personally, I believe that many cultures worship the same gods and goddesses under different names.
I don't think you need to give up on some god in favour to other. I work mosly with Norse gods but I also work with some Hindu and Summerian gods, and even Greek.
In my opinion you don't need to choose. But as I always say, the best thing you can do in magic is to follow your intuition.
Well, it depends on what you want to believe. My personal belief is that when you contact a deity or spirit guide, their presence is there but they are also a reflection of you. When they say something, even if its meaningless, youll analyze and research on what it could mean.
I recently read an article arguing for magic 8 balls. Heres a conversation they made up, to the best I remember.
Person: Should I quit my job?
Magic 8 ball: My sources say no
Person: What do you mean? I hate my job!
The 8 ball had no way of reaching those conclusions, but the person found the wisdom in the words. Its a wonderful idea, in just so many ways, that magick is just a reflection back upon yourself.
God and goddesses are spiritual beings that are like guides for one to get help and aid you with your magic and your life adviser that you would half to contact them through the spirit world and means the Astral Realms and or by meditating to them
What gods are real? The ones that you accept in your own reality and wouldn't matter if taken from other mythology. Just do research and do one at a time so it doesn't confuse yourself.
no one really knows, it's a personal thing. many christains will tell you anything that isn't God is the devil tricking us. some pagans work with archetype energies, not believing the deity is real, but is an energy you can tap into for divine guidance. personally i feel all deities are real on some level, but i on;y really concern myself with the ones i personally work with.
