For those of you who don't know, hyponosis is when you're in a deep, trance-like state of relaxation. You let your conscious relax while you're subconscious takes over for an x amount of time. This is because your conscious can only take a little bit of information. However, your subconscious holds so much more information. You have every memory ever created in there. Even memories dating back from a past life if you do a past life regression.
Anyways, earlier today, I did self hypnosis using this YouTube video which was narrated by a hypnotherapist for something I lost. Long story behind it, wont go into detail. During my trance, a name popped into my head and I can't stop thinking about it, I know its because its important, obviously, but why?
Another thing that happened, when I did it again (sometimes it takes a few tries to get the results you want) the weirdest happened before I woke up and I'm not sure if it was my in a hyponotized state until coming back, or if I just did something else. It may sound a little crazy, but I'm on site named "spells of magic" so, no one here should be judgemental, right? But, as I rose my head, eyes closed, I saw the room I was in, but in a very dark version. My eyes weren't even slightly open at the time.
I just need to know, if it was part of hypnosis, a brief out of body experience, or if I just have very vivid visuals.
For the first part, I would advise that you always be very careful about evaluating what you experience while under hypnosis. To the same extent you would evaluate a spiritual journey through meditation. Even professional hypno-therapists have to be very careful in what they do and say because when a person is in a suggestable state they can accidentally create or change memories.
For the second part, I have had similar things happen in meditation. I usually do a session when I have turned in for the night, so it is after dark and I am usually laying down with a pillow propped over my eyes. It blocks out light from the street and the slight weight helps keep my head leaned back for my airway. (Scholiosis kinda sucks :-p )
There are times when I reach a good and deep sense of stillness and the spots that usually float around in my vision start forming shapes and images. If it lasts long enough I almost forget that my eyes are closed and covered, and I end up seeing the details of my room in a manner similar to what you described. Where the colors are sort of muted or ... different. Like everything is a blue-grey tone with a slight fuzzyness out of blues greens and yellows.
Of course as soon as my mind realizes something unusual is happening I feel a need to blink. My eyes scrunch because they were already closed, I feel the pillow shift, and the moment is gone as I go back to being aware of my body.
I don't feel like it is astral projection per se... When It happens I am still 'inside' my body and haven't gone anywhere. It feels much more like a shift in awareness. My theory for now is that I managed to connect consciously (if briefly) with being able to experience the energy of my surroundings in a visual way. Call it opening/connecting to the third eye, if you will.
Maybe in your case the hypnosis put you into a similar state where you were briefly put into an awareness of some alternate sense?
It could be an out of body experience, but it could've been astral projection too.
But then again as far as I know, it might have been something caused by the hypnosis. I don't know too much about hypnosis and what happens besides the obvious, however I think you might have astral projected. It is just my thoughts on this.
I hope I help in some way.
It will be hard to say, if you just count on one of your senses (the sight) to distinguish through which of your subtle bodies perception you are experiencing what you are seeing.
If all of your senses appeared absolutely normal, without any deviations most probably you visually reconstructed inside your consciousness a well known place.Experiencing reality through your astral body and energy body is different to a certain degree. It is very hard to describe the differences, but your senses are different on those levels. I for once have this all knowing type of a sense and literally I sense changes that are to happen on that plane of existence. At the beginning I used to mistake my astral body for my real one, but few minutes into the experience some things that I sensed and experienced did not make logical sense. Also the time there is different. For example, I will be sleeping and dreaming and I know that the time in the physical world should be let say 3 a.m, but the time in my dream would be 6 hours later or earlier, because the time is mostly twilight there, for me at least.
