Petitions

I think there may have been threads like this in the past, but I usually do petitions to my Patron or other spirits within a ritual setting, or combined with spells to attract certain things to come.

I want to share my most recent experience: After petitioning my patron and asking to deepen the relationship as well as help me basically get my life together so I can be independent, I had used a framed picture of their likeness and I lighted a candle that stayed lit for quite a while while I sort of dilly-daddledabout just feeling things out. Im always weird when I genuinely ask for something or when Im trying to express emotion, and especially gratitude, so I was just sorta doing what felt right then. Which was mostly thinking about my patron and wondering how to get out of my current situation, and what decisions to make(what school to commit to, etc) and also enjoying the aesthetics of the temporary altar set up just for the petition writing.

That very night I had blown out the candle and went to bed, and felt a sense of serenity only comparable to years before. It was a beautiful feeling, that came with me until sufficient causes of annoyances and anger of daily eventsrinsed it out completely during the end of the following day.
