So, I recently got quite the urges to look up stuff regarding Ars Goetia and Pseudomonarchia Daemonum. I always wondered about how we got those writings. Have you guys ever worked with one of the 69 / 72 demons in these books? I don't think I'm gonna interact quite a lot with those entities but these books left me with tons of questions.
For example, some of the names of the demons actually look like slightly distorted names of deities. Astaroth for example, could be traced back to Astarte, Asherah and Ishtar. I guess this must be one of the reasons some people intertwine Mesopotamian Paganism so deeply with Satanic themes. I mean, if you take upon consideration that Christianity itself calls the gods and goddesses demons, and that the books have a Christian base, this only makes sense.
However, does this mean that some of the entities enlisted in the books could be gods mislabeled and distorted as demons?
Sorry for the delirium. I would just like to know some experiences you people have had with those entities in the past. If you want to tell, of course.
Very astute observation. Yes, many of the entities listed in the Goetia are versions of earlier deities. Carrol "Poke" Runyon did a good video on exactly that. Please overlook his theatrics. I think he may have been a drama major at one time. But, the magical knowledge is sound. You can find it on Youtube. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpV7wfwMIiE&t=4160$ . It also explains some of the precautions that you need to take.
The only thing I have to say on this subject is to be carful, demons will attach themselves to you, when that happens it invites other demons. Soon tormentors and poltergeists will come along with sleep paralysis. It can be chaos living with poltergeists. If you do decide to mess with them be sure your powerful enough to detach them.
I'll take isroll3.0's warning a step further. When you are looking at a system of magic you must look at the meaning of the words as intended. Many people would say that demons are "daemons", or nature spirits, or maybe even "deva". These words, in their respective systems of magic, are very different from the demons listed in Solomonic magic and you can not apply similar terms from different systems of magic and expect the forces described to conform to your idealized concept of them. Demons in Solomonic magic, which is rooted in kabbalistic practices, are forces that are out of balance, like the qlippoth. As noted above, many of them are deities from other cultures. Perhaps they are out of balance because their worshipers died out, or were slaves. Who knows. What is known that calling upon one of the demonic forces listed in the Goetia is not the same as calling upon the original deity. Perhaps this is the wrathful or angered side of the deity. Who knows. But, if you think of it, it is quite possible that these represent the gods of slaves that the Hebrews had who were conscripted to build the Temple of Solomon. That could well correlate to the concept of Solomon controlling the deities and forcing them to build the Temple, but that is just my own speculation.
It is important to remember that these forces are unbalanced and destructive, potentially self destructive. This is very important, especially if you are doing invocation as opposed to evocation. These forces can and will affect you. If you follow the system as described, and do all of the preliminary work, you will most likely be ok. Still, I would caution against starting on this kind of work without mastering the basics of magical work. The ego you save may be your own. Most of all, if you are asking questions about them or the processes, you are not ready. Understand what you are doing before hand, and don't try to change other practices to fit your ideas until you understand those practices fully to start with.
I have yet to strike a deal and work with him yet, but I have had contact with Allocer one time that I have noticed where he contacted back (sometimes they may be contacting you and you just never notice)
For a few days when I first started reading about him i was filled with excitement and a loving feeling about contacting him and making a deal with him and getting to know him better. After a few days I started to put energy into his sigil and I would try to call to him and find some type of way of communication. At one time i slipped into a meditation so deep I felt as if Allocer and I were so close. It felt as if i was in some separate room in my own mind and I could feel just how powerful his presence was. It was a very informative few seconds that lasted because i realized i wasnt yet ready to strike a deal with him yet. I felt as if that was my purpose for being called there. His magic and very presence is like gravity and it threw me off at first because everything ive read about that part IS true. His presence will center you if you dont get anxiety easily and dont know how to calm yourself. And if you dont like the way he feels, he isnt a right fit for you.
A few days after that i was walking outside by myself in the dark to get something from my familys van real quick. I went around the van and i couldnt see anything and everything was very dark. Then suddenly i hear this voice behind me. I knew it was him, it had to be. He only said one word that i could hear and it was just "hello". But the way it carried so much weight. It could've only been him.
I think that mustve been him making his presence 100% known, so that I would truly believe he was there.
Also just a tip- most (maybe all) goetia demons are freed or are in different positions than they used to be. most positions they were once known to have has most likely changed. they are and/or were once slaves and workers. if you call on the wrong one they may not be human friendly or may not be working/serving anymore considering that
