I'm trying to Study Magick, or Perhaps be a Magician. I've been using this site for quite a While. But now that I've joined I would like to ask some questions for starting out in Magick.
What is the best Place to start on your magical path?
Which spells are The most recomended on this site?
What books are recomened to purchase and study from?
Are there any good websites or articles to read and learn from?
And finaly What is the best advice for beginner magicians?
First of all, no matter what path you will be going down, you will need to be able to do the following things:
Meditate
Contoll your energie. You do this by visualizing a fire, or some electricity or whatever energy looks like to you and picture it gathering around your heart until you can feel that heat. After that, try moving and giving of this energy. That is the main thing of how you cast spells.
I can only tell you about a few youtubers who have helped me quite a bit: Akasha Wolf, Dragon feather 359(?) and become a living god. That last one is mainly if you want do become a black magician.
My number one tip:
Before you attempt any sort of spell or ritual alleays think of all the ways this could go, both good and bad. And only cast the spell when you are certain the gain outways the risk.
Good luck and blessed be.
Well, it has been awhile since you have posted this thread. As no one has decided to tackle your questions yet, I think I will just go ahead and attempt it.
What is the best place to start on your magical path?
On this site, many people will tell you to start Meditating, being familiar with Energy Work, Visualization, Grounding, Elements, with so many common and similar answers. They are not exactly wrong. These are good starting points.
However, what I think is the best way to start is to find out more about the Magical Practices and "Magical Religions" out there. Do you wish to study High Magick? Witchcraft?Hoodoo? For religions, there is Wicca, Voodoo, Thelema etc. There are plenty more that I have not deigned listing.
Within each choice, there are usually various unique systems and traditions you may deign to follow. For example, each system of High Magick practice may vary slightly in the subjects they teach and the recommended order of progression.
I also find it important for one to be familiar with Magical History. Look at important events and figures throughout history and see how they influenced the modern occult scene today. Who is Empedocles? He was from 5 BCE, and is the one that invented the theory of the 4 elements as we know them: Fire, Water, Earth and Air. That is perhaps too ancient. Who is Cornelius Agrippa? Elphias Levi? Aleister Crowley? They are important historical figures. There are also Magical Orders that are of note. What is the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn? I find all of these highly important. Those Figures and Orders I have mentioned have created beautiful systems of magick, that greatly shaped and influenced the modern occult scene today. So many modern practices of magick can be traced back to the past.
Which spells are the most recommended on this site?
If you are a beginner, I don't think you should be starting out with spells. What is with all the hype about spells anyway?
What books are recommended to purchase and study from?
The Occult Book - A Chronological Journey from Alchemy to Wicca.
Modern Magick by Michael Donald Kraig
Modern Magick should last you a few months, especially if you faithfully study and practice the contents contained therein. It is one of the most famous and well known primers out there.

What is the best advice for beginner magicians?
Always check the credibility of the authors you read from, some of them can be complete and utter tripe. Their contents can sometimes also be plain wrong. Also, beware of who you take advice from. Many people love the concept of giving advice, even when they have no clue on what they are talking about. On forum sites, there are those that love the concept of commenting just for the sake of it.

If you're serious about learning how to do magic and with starting from the rock-bottom then you don't start out by casting spells, you start out by learning how and why magic works.
You see, there is no such thing as an "easy" spell or a "beginner" spell. One either understands how magic works and has mastered the basics...in which case the magic will work..or you haven't done that sort of work..and no spell will work no matter how "easy" it seems.
Casting a successful spell involves much more than finding some spell on the internet or in a book, saying some words, lighting a candle, waving a wand of any of that sort of thing. In order for magic to work you need to understand how and why it works in the first place. Grounding and centering, visualization, focus and intent, energy manipulation, etc are all necessary first steps to even begin to have a chance at a spell actually working...and more importantly to prevent a spell from back-firing on you.
So, my advice for anyone who is truly serious is to start by reading a few books and practicing the exercises those books will give you. Once you have mastered the basics you won't need anyone to give you spells, you'll be able to create your own spells that will be far more effective than anything you find on the net. Here's the books I suggest:
"Before You Cast a Spell" by Carl McColman
"Spells and How They Work" by Janet and Stewart Farrar
"The Veil's Edge" by Willow Polson
"Modern Magick" by Donald Michael Kraig
And the following links in this thread will also help you learn the basic skills necessary for effective spellwork.
