Identify this

I was given this by a friend, and neither of us actually know what this is. It was split in half when i received it. I was wondering if anyone knew?

Don't know much about the area... however that appears to be related with the Star of David, showing the 7 fields of it. It could have been used to hold candles and workings done with it or something else.

However the design is literally a Star of David, related to the Kabbalah, now for what it is/was used I'd have no idea. You might find more information about it on-line.

I have seen these before, holding tumbled crystals in a grid formation to charge them for a particular intention.
Not sure about the scale of this one, the ones I have seen for this purpose can usually fit within the palm of a hand, so this could be the purpose.

Heres an example of one disc being used in conjunction with amethyst stones.
