Empaths Releasing Shield

So, I was wondering... if an empath has built barriers or shields over years unintentionally, and more of them than needed... would it be possible for said empath to intentionally take down those shields?

I haven't seen anything on this topic, but it probably isn't thought about often.

Yes. You are capable of removing shields you built unintentionally.

The trick would be to begin a practice of regular meditation (if you don't already) and use the stillness to work towards a state of internal o servation to feel out these potential walls, and to consciously let go of their presence.

A note of caution however, barriers get put up as a form of protection, so this might also reveal some old emotions or memories of what created the need for protection to begin with. Be prepared to feel out these events and work through them so then you will be able to let go of those shields. Barriers tend to keep coming back until you can work through the underlying cause/need.
