Hai!! So.. I'm new to this stuff.. and I'm really looking for like a beginner wishing spell but don't know what it takes. Do I really need the candles or charms and stuff? And.. what does it really take to have a wish spell work? If its even possible.
A spell is basically a ritual wish. Doing a wish spell is more likely to embed the idea of the wished result into your subconscious than to achieve the desired result. That is, it may only make you want it more. You're much better off doing a spell for the desired result, directly.
Do you have any recommendations for spells like that? As still being new I really don't understand...a lot of it. Like if I need to chant something can I read it off my screen or do I need to memorize it? And do the candles really help and stuff or can I do it without those?
I'm sorry. I should have addressed that part of your post as well.
The purpose of ingredients has mostly to do with something called correspondences. That is, they bear symbols meaningful to the working at hand. Otherwise, as is often with the use of a candle, they're a part of the process of the spell. Depending on the practitioner, candle color can have meaning, as can herbs, crystals, and other physical objects included in a working. At the same time, I don't personally believe any of that is absolutely necessary. However, understanding their use, and knowing whether it is something you wish to include in your own practice is why it's important to study for a while, in stead of just jumping right into doing spells.
For a while, I'd say it is important to establish a regular practice of meditation, and learning some basics here and there. It's really easy to become overwhelmed, but don't worry: Everyone is overwhelmed at some time or another.
You have some pretty good spells using bayleaves, the bayleaf is very powerful when it comes to making a wish come true. What you can do is light a white candle, write your wish three times on a piece of paper, place the bayleaves in the paper, fold the paper into an envelope and seal the paper with the wax from the white candle. Meditate hard on your wish, without meditating it's possibilities of coming true go down. Let the white candle burn down aswell.
A much simpler bay leaf spell (come to think of it, it's often called a wish spell), is to write the desire on the bay leaf, and burn it in a candle's flame. It's pretty cool to watch, too, because bay leaves spark and sputter as they burn.
Also, some folk traditions include putting a bay leaf into one's shoe either for luck, or to carry the intention to manifest some desire with them, as in with every walking step, they're accomplishing the think for which they're using the bay leaf.
