Spring just got here, And I just planted Marigold's. Not sure if they will bloom in time when I need it.
I was wondering I can still use parts of the plant even if there is no flowers blooming
Do you mean use parts of the plant for what the flower represents? Coming from the same plant I imagine yes, you can substitute the leaves.
You could also use a flower which is the same in representation as the marigold. Another flower for grieving or ancestor honoring for example. These will vary from place to place, culture to culture.
Thank you, this is for honoring for all pets that have passed away, and the Marigold that was planted is to help and guide them, and that they are welcome to frolic in our garden when the veil is thin, it like a thank you for being here
My daughter and I planted some about a month ago and they are blooming very fast! We love them the wind knocked them over a couple of days ago...but I just made 2 clippings and now we have 3 plants! I say if the earth is calling and asking for your help. Then plant them!
Just to add to this info here, it can also be used in spells and rituals involving divination, psychic awareness, legal issues, love, attraction and the renewal of personal energies. If you wear a marigold flower to court it is supposed to increase the odds of a favorable outcome. If you place it under your pillow or your mattress it is supposed to grant you prophetic dreams. If placed under your mattress, according to folklore, it will make any dream that you dream come true. If you hang a garland of the flowers around the entrances to your home it is said to keep negative energies at bay.
Marigold aka calendula, marygold, marybud, pot marigold, or summer's bride can be used in many magical ways. Picked at noon during the hot sun will bring strength and comfort the heart chakra. Under the bed it can protect those sleeping above and help manifest dreams or provide prophetic dreams, it's specialty is helping to discover whom a thief that robbed you is. It can be added to love sachets and medicinally it can be used to treat menstrual issues. Marigold is antimicrobial, antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory which makes it great for healing inflamed wounds, burns, mouth sores, diaper rash, colic, vaginitis, and yeast infections. Mountain folk in the eastern US consider marigold to be a European heal-all.
