Obeah

So, I read about a religion called Obeah where you basically use magick to control entities that can be used to do your bidding. It's a religion which commonly uses spirits like the bakroe, and I was wondering if anyone could offer a more in-depth study. Maybe some personal experiences from practitioners?

Obeah is not really an organized religion such as Voudoo or Candoble. Rather it is the practices of individual men and women and might be considered closest to some necromatic practices such as calling upon spirits of the dead . One reason that there is not much known about it is that it has long been outlawed in many Caribbean countries, and remains outlawed today in Jamaica. Thus practitioners largely keep their actions secret.
