Healing spell sleepiness?

Whenever I cast healing spells they work but the person then feels sleepy. Has this happened for anyone else? Is it common?

My great-Aunt was a practicing healer for over forty years, and there were always certain people who would just... fall asleep. Usually moments after she started. I asked her about it once, and instead of trying to explain she walked around behind me, and waved her hands over my back.

Just a few seconds into her demonstration I felt a strong warmth and release swell over my back. It was like my muscles just let go of their tension, and I felt an immediate peace and relaxation come over me. I can see how someone would suddenly feel inspired to rest given such a feeling.

The body does it's best healing while a being is asleep. It is very common to need more rest and sleep while fighting an illness or serious injury including healing from any type of trauma. I find specific healing spells may effect beings differently but it is common for the energy work to cause sleepiness just as a massage can relax and cause one to fall asleep during the session. Reiki is a type of energy healing and can cause sleepiness however it can also cause one to be energized. Like a steroid can increase healing but can also causes sleeplessness and react as a stimulant, energy can also have a similar reaction. There are a variety of healing spells to choose from and sometimes a combination of energy manipulation is best. Some workings may involve ingestion of herbs therefore knowledge and caution should always be practiced alongside this aspect of the craft. Others include ritual baths, candle magic, talismans, spell jars, medicine bags, andpoppets.Please also keep in mind that healing spells are not a substitute for professional medical advice however they can work in conjunction with modern medicine to better heal the being in question.
