How do you connect to ancestors?

I find myself connecting with scent. Scent is a powerful reminder for me.

I often find scents which smell just like loved ones.

Does anyone else use scents to work with ancestors? From offering incense to wearing perfume.

Ways to use scent to connect:

Baking bread or the scent of fresh coffee or other foods loved ones enjoyed.

And also scents like after shave, whiskey, brandy, or vodka.

Perfumes worn.

Incense.

Some scents I use to work with ancestors:

Californian white sage and eucalyptus smudge, smells like my aunt's living room, alive but estranged.

Satya patchouli forest incense, my maternal grandmother.

Jade vine providence soap, reminiscent of my great aunt's perfume.

I can occasionally catch scents that smell like old places and/or relatives around me, so you aren't alone on this.

I work mainly through meditation and energy-working, so on the occasions I want to connect with an ancestor I find myself a few moments of stillness and quiet. I then basically reminisce about good memories and events I had with them. I think about the sound of their voice, fond events or interactions, and other meaningful moments I've shared.

I use the memories and happiness they bring to honor them and the things they taught me. I find that as I do, I often feel them near to me offering their support.

This is why I go into meditation. We have the Manipura chakra (at the level of the solar plexus). 2 channels come from this chakra (connection with the Family, ancestors). The left channel is feminine, the right channel (on the right) is masculine. You need to find and feel for these channels, then imagine the prototypes of the female or male and call the ancestors, or go deeper along such a channel. Sometimes the channels are clogged with negative energy, due to which the signal passes weakly.
Still need basic extrasensory perception.

You can also harmonize these channels, make them stronger by sending the energy of light and love through them.
