I have a question, this is a deep question. I have always wondered this. This world is very unstable and threats of war is growing by the minute from all corners of the world.
If I got drafted to the military and I had to defend my country, in this defence I had to kill people. I would not enjoy it because Im not a psychopath.
My question is, will the universe or the gods understand this? Will I still get punished in the afterlife? As I do believe in all the gods, my view is which god you end up with is what faith/religion you practice. You can change faith as you evolve.
So I believe in several gods and will break down my belief.
I follow Anubis, because not only is he my patron, I strongly believe in what he stands for, he's more than the meets the eye, he's the most caring god in all of Egypt and wants what's best for those who move on. He weighs the hearts of mankind and it saddens him with those who have heavy hearts. I believe he knows there will be war and even though you have to kill enemies to protect yourself as long as you carry sympathy and stay empathetic he will believe in the purity of your heart.
2. I'm Christian so I believe in God. God also knows there's war, I'm a military wife whose husband has been deployed before and even though he's seen what war does and as much as he doesn't want to kill people, he knows he has to, to protect our homes and family. God forgives all, he knows you don't enjoy it (even though there's some people who do enjoy it) but he also knows that if we don't protect ourselves who will? There is a lot of corruption going on, and it will get worse before it gets better.
If you got drafted and went to war, just believe in your higher power, as long as you keep love, sympathy, empathy, and kindness within you, I believe all gods will forgive you and you will be loved in the afterlife.
People pray to gods/goddesses of war for strength so they could have victory, even they wouldn't be punished since they are protecting those they love. (By victory I don't mean winning the war, by victory I mean coming home to their families and friends) if someone is killed in war, I believe that the gods/goddesses/God will view them as the hero they are, just as they will view someone returning from war, a hero.
My favorite quote is " Si vis pacem, para bellum" it means "If you wish for peace, prepare for war " sadly I don't remember where it came from and who said it, but it stuck with me for years, because it's true, if you want peace then you must prepare to fight for peace.
What about killing innocents in war? Modern governments do lie to protect their interests. Lets say they force you to pull the trigger or they kill your family. Innocents deserve to live just as much as your family.
If I do pull the trigger, it is bad. But if I dont and the government then kills my family then their death is on my hands which is bad too.
Recently I have had alot of these kind of questions. I do believe that gods understand this, (lets hope) even they have had wars.
