Hello everyone, hope all is well. Recently I have been going through a lot of problems in my life. A few days ago things were taking a serious toll on me to the point of a panic attack. I have never read the Bible or even considered using it for anything but I was desperate and happened to see it at the time. I randomly opened a page and read where my finger landed. And it said
All these curses shall come upon you and pursue you and overtake you till you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes that he commanded you. I instantly got the worst and most hopeless feeling of my life. Is this as bad as it feels like or is it just dumb luck? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time
Well, my first thought was the Bible says a lot of things so take this as something to consider and not evidence of a curse.
I will prefix by saying, there is nothing evil or wrong about any faith, including Witchcraft. There are Christian Witches, for instance. It is how a person chooses to live that would make one evil.
As for the bibliomancy, you need to widen your gaze. You do not need to share your answers with me, these are things you should consider.
You were in a time of need, and felt drawn to the Bible, why? Again, you do not need to explain yourself, these are questions for you to ask yourself. You have never been interested in it, but at that moment you were. Do you own one, or were you at a library and saw it on the shelf? If it fell into your lap, I would take that as significant, but I am assuming you were worried, you looked around, and you saw it. Depending on if you own it or it was suddenly in your field of vision could alter whether it was spiritual intervention or not. Do you do bibliomancy regularly, or was this your first time? This could also change the interpretation.
Bibliomancy usually utilizes a sacred text, but you can use self-help books or books of quotes. Any book, really, but it is best if it holds some spiritual significance to you.
While I am not saying it is or is not definitively divine intervention, it does feel as if spirit wanted to give you a message. Granted, I would not conclude the Christian God cursed you, but it could be either a deity you are ignoring, or someone cursed you and the spirit wants to warn you. If this is Yahweh, I would need more signs to confirm. This is a one time occurrence.
I would also argue, if you were born Christian and chose to leave the faith, this is just another example of Christian guilt. I have noticed a lot of ex-Christians have a lot of religious trauma and part of it is because they were told if you don't follow us, you're going to hell so there is this fear of being punished for doing something wrong . In reality, nobody is keeping score and punishing you. Yes, there is karma, but it does not work like that. The divine wants to lead you to your highest good. If you are told by the divine to not do something, and you do it, they are not mad at you, but depending on what divine being, they will watch you struggle. This is not to punish you. You chose to do things your way, so the divine is letting you learn the hard way, because you chose the hard way. Once you ask for help, they will help you.
Keep a journal and write down anything you see as significant. This could be the bibliomancy, but it could also be dreams, thoughts, feelings, noticing the same numbers or animals a lot. Whatever feels significant to you. You can also ask the divine for guidance. Ask to see a specific thing, or get an answer in your dreams. Since you tried bibliomancy before, you could do it again. If you wish to speak with Yahweh again, I would use the Bible, but if not, you can use any book you feel is spiritually significant to you. In the case of Yahweh, hold the book, ask if He is speaking to you, then open the book and see what it says.
Reading over the quote, I would reflect on your actions. If you work with a deity, did you make a promise to them you forgot about? If you hold yourself to a certain code of ethics, did you act against your personal ethics? As for the curse part, when was the last time you cleansed yourself? Negative energy can build up over time. It can build up more if you do not have your protections in place. I would do a full cleanse of yourself and your home, then protect yourself and your home. Also, consider cleansing and protecting your phone. It can be used as a black mirror and negative energy can build up in it too.
I regret being unable to give you a definitive answer, but there is not enough evidence to give one. Best to cleanse and protect yourself, keep a journal, meditate, and ask the divine for guidance. Until you gain more evidence, take it as a reminder to cleanse and push this memory from your mind. Dwelling on it will only make matters worse.
Okay so divination is a real thing and it has many forms so a witch will be sure to find a form that works with their energy, be it tarot, crystal gazing, and even bibliomancy, which can use any book as the book's lines are simply a "physical representation of the answer" like how tarot will give you specific cards where the energy will be drawn to that imagery because the answer lies there. Same idea with bibliomancy. Now as you said you had a bit of "panic" well divination only works when you can actually focus and if you were still having that "you know what" attack, then that would mean that you wouldn't be able to focus enough to perform divination. So this is just a self fulfilled prophecy, you were feeling upset and saw something that "matched/ rationalized" it. Take it like this, say you get a flu, did a witch hex you? You might think that if your upset at the same time, but if you focus you remember, oh it's February which is flu session also I don't know any witches so I'm most likely not hexed. If your a witch you should do another reading with a form of divination that you are versed in rather then seeing if you can do bibliomancy on your first attempt in the middle of "you know what" attack. Let me know if that doesn't make sense.
