Does it really have to be a yellow marker and can I substitute it with a pen instead?

Hello daulton1. Did you make this spell yourself? Chant as many times as needed. Chanting is to build energy. I made a habit growing up of building energy nonverbal before hand and releasing it under a chosen number of repetitions. Yellow is a good choice if you are considering it's correspondences. It symbolizes "the self" and creativity.
Yes, you can use a pen. Colors are a tool, but they aren't absolutely necessary. Let us know how your spell went, if you don't mind.
