Meditate while focusing on your intentions, burning a green or nature scent-related candle for as long as you feel is right, you will know when to stop
Go outside, if you aren’t already, and search for a tree that seems to call to you
Sit at the base of the tree facing it and place your hand flat on the trunk
Ask the tree in your head or out loud if you can use it’s wood.
If the temperature of the tree gets warmer, it says yes. If it gets colder or doesn’t change, it says no. If the tree says no, DO NOT USE IT. Find a different tree and repeat.
If the tree says yes, pick a small branch and carefully cut off a piece, placing any extra pieces or leaves at the base of the tree where you were sitting.
Once you’ve collected the size piece you want, say a blessing over the wand.
Once the blessing is said you may carve, decorate, etc.
When you’ve done all you wish to do to it, test it by focusing your energy into it. If you feel the energy through it, proceed to the next step. If not, you may need to charge it in moonlight. If that does not work, you may need to focus more on your energy flow or restart and do all the previous steps again.
Go give thanks to the tree by saying a blessing over it to wish it growth and a long life.
Slightly correct. You should meditate under the tree, not before. Although, if you choose to cleanse yourself before, that would make sense to meditate for a bit. As you meditate under the tree, you should receive your answer. Temperature changes are one sigh, but everyone is different, so be observant. If you are still new to sensing energy, or your intuition is not strong, I would wait a bit before trying this. You should bring an offering with you. Harming the tree or a nearby plant is not an offering and could upset the tree spirit. Cut a brank which is larger than you need because you will whittle it down. The tip of your middle finger to your elbow is a common measurement to use. And, of course, thank the tree for the gift. I would also research the time of year as cutting branches off trees at certain times could cause them to bleed and potentially die. Not literal blood, but a lot of sap which does not stop and can harm the tree. You should also research the type of tree as trees have their own Magikal properties, so if you want a wand with protection energy, do not pick a tree with love as its primary correspondence. Granted, you can also simply purchase a wand. Be sure to follow your intuition and pick one you feel drawn to and not just the first one you see.
