I don't think the candle type would matter much, though I don't really see the point in using so many candles just to make a poppet work. They can work without burning ten candles. Also, if you're going to brush off informed facts from a knowledgeable member of the site as not helpful just because it's not directly related to your question, you're not helping yourself. HearthWitch was still providing information to you that's important in being respectful to closed religions, and one should educate themself on terminology like Voodoo if they're going to look into these spells.

That is the latest explanation I gave you on the subject you knew nothing about until three days ago apparently. Your interests seem to lean toward the left hand path and closed practices, so heed my warning, you are playing with forces you know nothing about. You are disrespecting spirits you know nothing about. If you mess with spirits like the orisha, it is highly likely you will get hurt. If you are lucky, they will ignore you. Drop your ego, humble yourself, and do the work. If you are not being taught by an actual voodoo priest/priestess, things will end badly for you.
just a little effort of magic will not even hurt someone. The instruction should be wide and have meaning why and how. The step should be so many and clear descripted. its not functioned if you only give one sentence like that.
