I had a dream last night that started something, my dreams never quite behaved the way that they seemed to for most. For most dreams are just abstractions of our day to day lives played out as would a story through the usage of emotional and symbolic imagery to portray the nature of our Inner Worlds, but for me there was always something...strange. My dreams behaved like a second life, with continuity and established form rotating between different, yet familiar, settings and characters. Last night the cyclical nature became painstakingly apparent.

I was with a team of explorers in an ever changing world, the Horologium Nyx, the Night Clock, which essentially behaved like a music box, where the melodies were instead worlds shifting from setting to setting, story to story. These worlds carried the illusion of continuity, and would behave as if they were independent of the dreamer, and it soon became apparent what the function of this dream machine was.

The consciousness of humanity is bound together, and throughout the ages we go through peaks and troughs in our awareness as a collective consciousness. These peaks and troughs play out through the Zodiac through something called the Dreamspell.

As the Earth wobbles on its axis, the north pole faces a different constellation of the Zodiac. The entire cycle takes around 26,000 years, which is divided into twelve parts called Ages. So, how does this apply to this Night Clock, the Horologium Nyx?

Astrology determines our place in relation to the cosmos, our signs determine how the motions of the planets through the Zodiac interact with us on a day to day basis. It is possible that this interaction does not happen when we are awake, as we are so sensitive to such forces and their interactions with us that our day to day interactions and energy levels would not be able to sense it except on some subliminal level. It is possible that this interaction happens when we are most vulnerable psychically and energetically, when we are asleep.

So the Night Clock is our own internal Zodiac, which also has its own twelve signs which we cycle through in our sleep when our mind is on autopilot so to speak. The interactions of this personal Zodiac in our sleep manifest the dream world around us as an attachment and machination of the Dreamspell that keeps our Consciousness asleep. When we are asleep and go through the motions of the dream as a mere character in what appears to be some predetermined narrative that we have no awareness of, it makes it easier to play into this celestial narrative when we wake up; in other words, our Consciousness "goes back to sleep" and we become an extension of the Zodiac like our Horoscopes and Natal Chart would suggest. Essentially, when our Consciousness is asleep, we become proverbial cogs in a celestial clockwork, extensions of a machine playing through the motions in accordance to our Natal Charts. The Horologium Nyx theoretically would be what causes this to happen.

This is the theory at least, on this thread I will be discussing potential workings with this Night Clock and how this information can be used to wake consciousness up and affect dream recognition.
