Elder Furthark runes were runes used throughout Germanic tribes in the early first century A.D: they were used in places in Northern Europe including Scandinavian, Swedish, German, Norwegian, Icelandic, Danish, and English tribes. These days, they're the most common runes we see. The ancient alphabet, which can be translated into 'secret' or 'mystery', is now commonly used for divination and magic.
