stones?

i want to make an amulet to enchant.

1 can a beginner w verry little skill enchant a crystal
2 i dont know which color to uuse, i like purple n red, i know purple is good, but ive been told red is dangerous.

any sugguestions on colors?
ill take any color that meets my needs. but i want it to be special.

n its gonna be a choker type, so idk which to use, leather or suede, or just a cheap peice of colored string.
ill probably settle on leather.

enchanting a crystal is easy. Just Relax, Center, & Connect. Hold the crystal in your hands, close your eyes and concentrate on the purpose till you feel like your done. you may try singin to it, using a bit of your blood..etc. several ways to do that. As far as colors, Pick the stone that feels the best to you and pertains to the goal.
Amethyst: Dreams, Intuition, Clairvoyance, Psychic Power
Lapiz Lazul: Communication with the dead, Intuition
Kyanite: Empathy, Intuition, Prophetic Dreams, Creativity.
